Jax B.

Jax B.

Jax is a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever who arrived at Canada West as a 7-month old puppy that wasn’t faring well.  He was suffering from neck pain, had a high fever, and was very lethargic.  Jax’s young owner had already spent her available resources at two other veterinary clinics prior to Jax’s arrival at Canada West and couldn’t afford significant additional treatment.

Canada West Neurologist Dr. Mike Higgins determined that Jax suffered from steroid responsive meningitis, and suspected Jax’s disease was treatable and had a very good prognosis if tackled early. With help from the JBF, we performed a spinal tap and bloodwork and undertook appropriate therapy for Jax.

Jax has made an excellent recovery and is happily back at home and can look forward to a long and busy life ahead of him!
