Teka G.
This is Teka, a 6 year old Yorkshire Terrier, who moved to Vancouver with his family from Brazil.
In June 2017, the family was taken by surprise by a sudden and fast situation where Teka was unable to move any of his legs. They rushed Teka to their regular Veterinarian in hopes that he had possibly eaten something he shouldn’t have and a simple injection was all Teka needed. However, that was not the case, Teka was referred to Canada West Veterinary and a herniated spinal disc was diagnosed.
After a week between hospitals and with no improvement, surgery was in Teka’s best interest.
“Teka has never stayed in a hospital for so long and with so many tests, I know that he is not having any physical pain, but he is probably wondering where we are, and what are we doing to help?
If he made it to Vancouver from the other side of America, we are sure that he will be able to walk again. He is a fighter, like us!”
Teka’s surgery was performed by Dr.Higgins and he has recovered well since. Teka is now on a rehabilitation program to help regain strength in his legs.
